The Taraori village is a historic site. It is located on the highway from the Mughal times. There is a Sarai (Dharamshala) also in the village. The Sarai was used as a fort by the Sikhs. It is now in a bad shape. The village is located close to the railway station and has thus emerged as a major paddy market. The Basmati rice cultivated here is one of the best rice of India. The rice is also exported all over the world. There are a few rice husking mills also located here.
