History

The Panchkula Municipal Council was constituted in 2001 under the Haryana Municipal Act, 1973 vide notification no. 18/4/96-2C1 dated 25.01.2001. In 2007, the Governor of Haryana vide notification No. 4/130/2007-3C1 dated 13.08.2007 hereby intended to included the in Eastern boundary in Municipal Council, Panchkula. Rest of the boundary was remained unchanged.

 As on March 17, 2010 Municipal Council, Panchkula converted into Municipal Corporation, Panchkula. In 2010, vide notification No. 18/7/2010-3C1 dated 17^th March, 2010, in addition to the committee Kalka & Pinjore and some villages were included within the limit of Municipal Corporation. The source of income of the Municipalities included House Tax, Fire Tax, Rent, Development Charges, Lease to Land, Booking of Parks & Community Centres etc.
